Meta Tags - Improve Your Site's Visibility w/ A PHP Hack

Postby magicrat » Tue Dec 16, 2014 4:30 pm

An easy way to get Google and other crawlers to update your site's information in it's database and make it easier for people to find you is with good meta tag data in the head of the page.

I use a little PHP to fix it so that every time the page renders, it says that the page was just updated. :D

This:

Code: Select all

<?php echo date("j F Y") ?>." />
Here's an example of the lines I typically include in the head of my pages:

Code: Select all

<meta name="description" content="Send questions or feedback to Magic-Rat: magicrat@magicratproductions.com - Since 2008 - www.magicratproductions.com - updated <?php echo date("j F Y") ?>." /> <meta name="keywords" content="pat flanders, flanders, magicrat, magic-rat, sportbike videos, homepage" /> <meta name="page-topic" content="Magic Rat Productions Home Page"/> <meta name="author" content="magicratproductions.com" /> <meta name="revisit-after" content="14 days" />
